Paul Ranieri, Steve Fruda, Chandler Mogel and Jon Bivona are Dangered Ace, a new band based in New York City that has created a genre of music called Hard Swing. Musically, this new sound is Hard Rock but with a Swing band element.
Distilling the essence of big band through the power of heavy rock, Dangered Ace accomplishes the unique task of making Hard Rock danceable again. Even as a four piece band, every instrument performs its melodic duty. Formed by bassist Paul Ranieri in 2009 out of the desire to bring something innovative to the world of rock n roll he assembled a team of ass kickers of the fantastic. It started with powerhouse drummer Steve Fruda, next in the lineup the dynamic singer and front man Chandler Mogel, and to complete this wicked ensemble guitar virtuoso Jon Bivona. Ranieri’s love of pulp art, science fiction and retro lounge music are key influences in the look and sound that is Dangered Ace. From fierce vocals to exciting arrangements Dangered Ace is primed to take rock to a new level on the global stage.

Travis is an old friend and an award-winning artist whose most recent works include Trent Reznor’s portrait for Will.I.Am’s Grammy Awards exhibition. The visual style of his work is mostly influenced by the lighting and atmosphere of German Expressionist and Film Noir motion pictures from the Silent Era to the late 1950’s from directors like F W Murnau, Fritz Lang, Orson Welles, Robert Siodmak, Robert Aldrich, Jacque Tourneur, and cinematographer, Greg Toland. To achieve the dramatic “mood” in his paintings, they are produced primarily in black and white or limited color. He uses acrylic paints over tight graphite drawings on smooth grounds, like “plate” finish illustration board or finely sanded, primed wood panels. Travis provided a rarely seen early piece and an all new painting for the posters to A NIGHT OF JOE R. LANSDALE, both of which will never be galleried or sold! Rare prints, signed by Travis and Joe R. Lansdale, are available through BellMojo Productions.
The Royal Flush Film Festival & Royal Flush Magazine
The Royal Flush Festival is a brand new force in the independent film, art and music scene. Initially founded in 2005 as the E. Vil City Film Fest in NYC’s East Village, this opportunity to enjoy movies and booze with like-minded people is expanding dramatically in its fifth year with a new partner. E. Vil City is joining forces with Royal Flush Magazine, a nationally-distributed killer rag that celebrates underground music, art, video games, pop-culture and indie movies. With its strict, no-fluff stance and with what Media Post says “displays more creativity in its first 25 pages than most publications do in an entire year.”, The Royal Flush is a logical pairing. We are excited to announce that these allied organizations, equally impassioned in their commitment to awesome content, have formed a collaborative relationship based on a shared obsession for the media and culture that they support. The Royal Flush Festival will work extensively to bring you the best in art, film and music and will offer attendees better bang for their buck, while giving our filmmakers greater exposure.

PROTECT advocates a pro-child, anti-crime agenda, which combines traditionally liberal positions on child protection with traditionally conservative positions on crime. PROTECT’s pro-child agenda includes legal advocacy for child victims, and reform and adequate funding of child protective services. It’s anti-crime agenda includes stronger criminal sentencing, surveillance and containment of released sex offenders and increased funding for law enforcement.
